Job Description

HDI Railing Systems is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our team. This full-time, entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow a career in manufacturing estimating. The Junior Estimator will support our premanufacturing and estimating operations by assisting in the preparation of accurate project cost estimates. Working alongside our experienced estimating team, this individual will gain hands-on experience evaluating bid documents, performing quantity take-offs, gathering pricing information, and contributing to the successful completion of project bids. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed quantity take-offs under the guidance of senior estimators. Review and analyze bid documents to understand project scope, specifications, and requirements. Assist with the preparation and distribution of Request for Quotations (RFQs). Identify and obtain missing information necessary to complete estimates accurately. Assist in the preparation and submission of bid proposals. Provide support to the Estimating and Sales teams as needed. Maintain organized project records and documentation throughout the bidding process. Qualifications & Experience Ability to read blueprints and develop accurate quantity take-offs from architectural plans and specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard computer applications. Experience with Bluebeam and/or AutoCAD is preferred but not required. Basic understanding of construction methods and practices, with a strong interest in learning the estimating process. Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from experienced team members. 0-2 years of experience in construction, estimating, engineering, architecture, or a related field. Relevant internships, coursework, vocational training, or hands-on experience are a plus.
