Residential Flooring Estimator

Summary:

The Residential Estimator is responsible for providing accurate pricing estimates for residential flooring projects. This individual will work with customers to understand their needs and requirements, and then utilize this information to develop a cost-effective and competitive quote. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and customer service skills. A sense of urgency is also required, as the expected turnaround time on a quote is within 48 hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Utilize information previously gathered by a Field Measure Technician (Installation area square footage, type of material desired by customer, amount of subfloor preparation required, etc.) to create a formal quote.
• Fully understand the customer's budget and timeline.
• Research and competitively price all flooring materials and installation costs.
• Maintain an accurate record of all estimates created.
• Other duties as assigned (Position may be required to assist with taking field measurements or meet with customers to gather further info to build quotes.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous construction industry experience (Residential or Commercial) and familiarity with standard industry terminology and practices
• Experience in flooring estimating is helpful but not required
• Excellent customer service skills and/or sales skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Knowledge of flooring materials and installation methods is very helpful
• Must be experienced using a PC, Tablet, and Smart Phone
• Basic math calculations

Physical Demands:

• The ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
• The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• The ability to use a computer and other office equipment.

Working Conditions:

• This position is full-time, located in Arko's main office
• The work schedule may vary depending on the needs of the business.
