Technical Project Estimator

The Technical Project Estimator will work with the design and manufacturing staff to interpret specifications and drawings in (Mechanical/Electrical engineering systems) to develop a proposal for submittal to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Analysis:

• Evaluate drawings and specifications to identify all requested materials, labor, and equipment.
• Determine key variables that influence project costs, such as codes, material prices, and production times.
• Gather data on costs from suppliers and vendors.
• Use estimation programs and tools to prepare estimates.

Estimate Preparation:

• Develop detailed cost estimates for projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other relevant costs.
• Prepare and submit proposals for projects.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to refine estimates and budgets.
• Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and bids.

Project Monitoring:

• Identify and address any cost overruns or deviations from the budget.

Job Requirements:

Education:

A.S. degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical system design, or related experience is preferred.

Experience:

1-3 years of experience with estimating industrial Plumbing, Electro/Mechanical systems.

CAD:

SolidWorks use and review of commercial documents experience is a plus.

Communications:

Strong verbal and written communications skills are required. Any foreign language experience in a plus.

Full-time Pay:

$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
