This position is remote and does require the Estimator to travel to site visits, across the Southeast, when necessary. General Description Create and maintain relationships with subcontractors History of providing estimates that are completed on time and within budget History of providing firm fixed price estimates with a good win percentage Ability to collect multiple quotes from subcontractors for bids Experienced in providing takeoffs Strong ability to dissect projects from pre-bid meetings, documents, and drawings/plans to provide a detailed competitive estimate Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards Excellent planning skills and the ability to set expectations and drive accountability Maintain accurate records, purchase logs, expense reimbursement forms, and other documentation Works closely with and provides support to project managers, proposal writer, and other MULE team members Attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required estimate content Ability to provide a thorough handover of project details and breakdowns to Project Managers upon award Working on a variety of projects of varying complexity Consistently follow up with subcontractors to ensure bids and technical information are received on time General Qualifications 5+ years in the construction industry 5+ years participating in the bidding of government and commercial construction projects (Preferred) Degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related field Experience with Federal Construction Projects Good verbal and written communication skills Able to provide detailed technical writing for bidding packages Experienced in Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build bidding Strong analytic, problem solving, organization and time management skills Professional in actions and appearance Thorough and detail-oriented Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints Effective and professional interactions with project partners, subcontractors and vendors Self-starter and motivated with minimal supervision Strong computer skills Strong team working skills Willing and have the ability to travel to site visits amongst the Southeastern United States region.
