Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Construction Material Takeoff Specialist based in Modesto, CA. The role involves preparing accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates for various construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing project blueprints, collaborating with architects and contractors, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. While most tasks will be performed onsite, some remote work flexibility is available. Qualifications Strong knowledge of Construction and Architecture processes, including familiarity with interpreting blueprints and project plans. Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office software for documentation, data analysis, and reporting. Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams. Experience in construction estimating, material takeoffs, framing, drafting, or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Responsibilities Review architectural, structural, and framing plans for residential and commercial projects. Perform accurate material takeoffs for lumber, wall framing, roof framing, floor systems, wall panels, trusses, sheathing, connectors, and related building components. Analyze plans and specifications to determine framing requirements and material quantities. Generate detailed framing packages, material lists, and project estimates. Identify potential design conflicts, constructability concerns, and opportunities for material optimization. Collaborate with designers, sales representatives, project managers, and production personnel to ensure estimate accuracy. Assist in value-engineering solutions that improve efficiency while maintaining structural integrity and code compliance. Review project revisions and update takeoffs and estimates as needed. Communicate with contractors, builders, and suppliers regarding project scope and material requirements. Maintain organized estimating records and support project handoff to production.
