Full Job Description Company Overview:
Hi Power Electric, is a leading electrical contracting firm known for delivering high-quality, timely, and cost-effective solutions across commercial, residential, and multifamily projects.
Position Summary:
The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients, this role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, material pricing, labor analysis, and Colorado-specific building codes and regulations. The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of electrical estimating experience and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating & Bidding Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop detailed cost estimates Prepare complete take-offs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate bids from suppliers and subcontractors Develop competitive bid packages for commercial, industrial, and residential electrical projects Maintain and update a library of unit costs, assemblies, and historical project data Project Coordination Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to ensure estimate accuracy and constructability Attend pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client meetings as required Review and interpret RFIs, addenda, and change order requests Assist in value engineering efforts to provide cost-effective solutions without compromising quality Reporting & Documentation Prepare and present estimate summaries and bid proposals to leadership and clients Track bid results and win/loss ratios to refine future estimating strategies Maintain organized and accurate estimate files, correspondence, and documentation Monitor material and labor cost trends in the Colorado market
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical estimating within a contracting environment Experience estimating commercial electrical projects is required Solid knowledge of electrical systems, NEC codes, and Colorado state/local electrical requirements Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar) Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics Strong math and analytical skills with high attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred:
Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field Experience with industrial electrical projects in Colorado Journeyman or Master Electrician license (active Colorado license a plus) Familiarity with prevailing wage and Davis-Bacon projects Experience using project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend)
Working Environment:
