Job Description:

MG Recruiting Source is partnered with a growing commercial mechanical contractor to identify an experienced HVAC Estimator for a high-impact role supporting complex commercial projects. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems who enjoys the preconstruction side of the business and wants the flexibility of a fully remote position while remaining based in the greater Tampa area. This person will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive bids for commercial HVAC projects while collaborating closely with operations, project management, and leadership. Occasional travel to corporate offices or project meetings may be required. What You'll Do Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects including new construction and retrofit work Analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents Perform quantity takeoffs for ductwork, piping, equipment, controls, and related systems Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Develop labor, material, and equipment cost projections Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives Work closely with leadership and operations teams during bid review process Maintain estimating databases, pricing history, and proposal templates Participate in handoff meetings for awarded work What We're Looking For 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, or related trades Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical plans, and specifications Experience bidding commercial construction projects Ability to read blueprints and perform accurate takeoffs Strong organizational and communication skills Self-starter who can work independently in a remote environment Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and digital plan platforms
