Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Your expertise will help guide project planning, budgeting, and bidding processes, contributing directly to the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to develop precise estimates that drive project success. Duties Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive cost estimates Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bids and proposals Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground information and assess construction conditions Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and negotiate terms Prepare detailed cost breakdowns covering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead Assist in developing project schedules and budgets aligned with client requirements Monitor project costs during execution to ensure adherence to budgets and implement cost control measures Review contracts and scope of work documents to ensure accurate pricing and risk assessment Support project management teams with accurate forecasting and change order evaluations Experience Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably within commercial or heavy civil projects Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable Excellent negotiation skills for working with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients Hands-on construction site experience providing practical insight into project execution Familiarity with contract documents, scope development, and cost control strategies Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy Strong communication skills to clearly present estimates and collaborate effectively with team members Join us in shaping the future of construction by delivering precise estimates that set the foundation for successful projects.
