Pay:

$30-$40 per hour, based on experience Reports to: Owner / Sales Lead About the Role We are a residential remodeling and general contracting business serving the Kansas City metro. We are hiring a part-time Estimator to join our team in our Lenexa office. You will own the estimating process for kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, additions, and whole-home projects — from plan takeoff through final scope and pricing handoff to the project manager. This is a focused, in-office role for someone who loves the detail work and wants steady part-time hours without the chaos of running jobs. What You'll Do Read and interpret architectural plans, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate takeoffs and quantities. Write detailed, specific scopes of work that subcontractors, suppliers, and clients can rely on — leaving nothing to assumption. Identify and flag risky or unclear areas of the scope (unknown conditions, missing details, structural questions, code concerns) before they become change orders. Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids. Build and maintain organized estimate files, cost data, and bid documentation. Collaborate with the owner, project managers, architects, and trades to refine scopes and pricing. Walk job sites and existing-condition properties as needed to verify field conditions. Learn and work daily inside our project management and estimating software. What You Bring Minimum 5 years of residential remodeling experience. Minimum 5 years of estimating experience. Strong ability to read and diagnose architectural and construction plans. Proven ability to write detailed, specific scopes of work. Sharp eye for risk — you can spot the parts of a scope that are likely to bite us later. Highly detailed and organized; you keep clean files and clean numbers. Comfortable learning new software platforms quickly. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from our Lenexa office.
