Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Project Planner will support the Project Manager in meeting the contract requirements on assigned project(s). This role will issue purchase orders, manage product procurement, track shipments, and coordinate deliveries to job sites or warehouses. This role will interact on a daily basis with Suppliers, Warehouse Facilities, Logistics, Purchasing, Accounting and Sales staff. The role requires consistent collaboration, timely communication, and the ability to meet business deadlines.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform job duties during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM) and standard workdays, as required to support team collaboration and ensure timely communication with customers and vendors during their normal business operations Issue and manage quotes and Purchase Orders from approved Suppliers, negotiate prices, and expediate material. Prepare accurate project change orders as directed by customer and PM. Organize and submit accurate deliveries and manage any inventory discrepancies. Communicate and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers during standard business hours Obtain and evaluate vendor pricing to ensure cost-effective solutions Identify inconsistencies, risks, or gaps in plans and specifications Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines Exercise sound judgment and problem-solving to support project(s). Support leadership with special projects as needed Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Familiarity with standard symbols, concepts, and practices in construction drawings Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities Strong follow-up and accountability skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with SAP, Parspec, Tableau and/or Access a plus Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree or higher preferred Minimum of 1 year of planning or related experience preferred Experience in lighting, electrical, or plumbing industry preferred
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to use standard office equipment, phone, printer, etc. Ability to review and analyze detailed documents and plans
Work Environment:
Hybrid work schedule: Employees are expected to work two (2) days per week in the office (Monday and Thursday) and may work remotely up to three (3) days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday). Employees may choose to work in the office up to five (5) days per week based on professional judgment and business needs. Work must be performed during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM) to align with customer and vendor availability and support team collaboration Primarily office-based with regular use of computer systems Requires ongoing interaction with team members, vendors, and customers
