About Boreas Welding Boreas Welding is seeking a Sales Estimator to help grow our industrial welding and fabrication services. This is a commission-driven role with strong earning potential for individuals who can both develop client relationships and support the estimating process. Boreas Welding is an industrial welding and fabrication contractor specializing in pipe fabrication and field installation for industrial and commercial facilities. Our team supports projects ranging from process piping systems to plant modifications and industrial maintenance work as well as manufacturing piping systems at our shop location. We work with contractors, manufacturers, and industrial facilities. As Boreas Welding continues to grow, we are focused on expanding our presence with industrial facilities, general contractors, mechanical contractors, and engineering firms who require reliable fabrication and welding partners. Position Overview The Sales Estimator is responsible for generating new project opportunities, preparing estimates, and supporting the proposal process through project award. This role is a balanced mix of business development and estimating, with responsibilities spanning from initial client contact through pricing and proposal submission. The Business Development Manager will identify opportunities, work directly with clients, develop estimates, and transition awarded work to project management. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both relationship-building and the technical side of pricing and developing projects.
Responsibilities:
Business Development & Lead Management Identify and pursue new welding and fabrication opportunities Follow up with warm leads from our lead Gen System Develop relationships with general contractors, plant managers, engineers, and project managers Conduct site visits and introductory meetings with potential clients Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified project opportunities Follow up with warm leads generated through internal marketing and lead generation efforts Estimating & Proposal Development Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications Review project plans, scope documents, and bid requirements Develop budgets and detailed cost estimates for welding and fabrication work Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain material pricing and lead times Work with internal estimators and project managers to validate scope and pricing Prepare and send professional proposals and bid submissions Ensure estimates align with project scope, schedule, and company capabilities Client & Project Coordination Guide clients through the proposal and pre-construction process Maintain communication throughout bidding and negotiation Follow up after bids to gather feedback and identify future opportunities Provide clear project scope and expectations during handoff to project management Support smooth transition from awarded project to execution Compensation This role is 100% commission-based and designed for individuals who can generate opportunities and successfully develop projects through estimating and proposal. A Draw Will be available for the first 6 months to help offset the Sales/Project as well as onboarding. The Business Development Manager earns commission on Projected gross profit from secured projects, with a tiered structure based on performance. Work Structure Flexible schedule based on workload and project activity Typical workload ranges from 30-50 hours per week This is a performance-driven role focused on results rather than hours. Efficiency and organization will directly impact both income and schedule flexibility. Ideal Candidate Experience in industrial construction, welding, fabrication, mechanical contracting, or manufacturing Experience with estimating, takeoffs, or project costing Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications Strong communication and relationship-building skills Self-motivated and comfortable working independently Ability to manage both client relationships and project pricing responsibilities Existing industry connections are highly valued
Preferred Backgrounds:
Former Project Managers or Estimators in the piping or mechanical industry Individuals with experience working directly with contractors or industrial facilities If your a Skilled Estimator that is organized, able to meet with people and is able to sell and that wants more earing potential then just a base salary, This might be the posistion for you.
Pay:
