Job Title:
Assistant Estimator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the development of accurate project estimates and ensuring timely bid submissions. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of construction practices and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Utilize estimating software and tools to develop accurate project estimates. Track current and upcoming bid opportunities, issuing requests for quotes to suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. Organize bid folders, proposals, and supporting documentation to ensure timely bid submissions. Perform comparative analysis of subcontractor and supplier pricing. Maintain historical cost data, estimate files, bid documents, and tabulations. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop budgets and schedules aligned with project goals. Assist with post-award documentation, including contract review, insurance and bonding requirements, required forms, budgets, submittals, and schedules. Support the project turnover process with preconstruction and construction teams. Assist with purchasing long-lead and specialty materials as needed. Provide general administrative and estimating support as required. Essential Skills 0-3 years of experience in estimating or roadway construction. Proficiency in estimation, construction, and construction management. Experience with estimating software and construction estimating. Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Working knowledge of highway and commercial construction practices, DOT standards, and industry best practices preferred. Familiarity with contract documents, including drawings, specifications, and scopes of work preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and drawing software. Work Environment The position requires working onsite in the office five days a week. The work environment is collaborative, focusing on teamwork and effective communication to achieve project goals. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Woonsocket, RI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60000.00- $75000.00/yr.
