In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors. Duties Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope documents. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop accurate pricing models and bid proposals. Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings to determine material and labor requirements. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to negotiate costs, scope changes, and contractual terms. Assist in cost control efforts by monitoring project budgets and identifying potential overruns early. Review and analyze contracts, change orders, and project schedules to ensure estimates align with project goals. Support project management teams by providing timely estimates that facilitate bidding processes and project planning. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and site operations. Proficiency in estimating tools such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other relevant software platforms. Solid knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, pricing strategies, and cost control techniques. Hands-on construction site experience that provides insight into labor productivity and material logistics. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors. Strong project management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines. Effective communication skills to clearly present estimates and collaborate across teams. Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with construction site safety protocols, experience in contract administration, and certifications related to construction management or estimating.
