The company serves commercial, industrial, municipal, and mining markets, with typical projects ranging from $500,000 to $10 million. This role has strong potential for growth and advancement and is based in Columbia, South Carolina, with some regional travel. Schedule Full-time, onsite. Travel within South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia may be required. Compensation $85,000 - $120,000 Per Year What You'll Do You will estimate self-performed heavy civil work, pricing labor, equipment, and material costs across site development, industrial, commercial, utilities, mining reclamation, overburden removal, and general site work. You will produce accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings through to detailed, final contract estimates, on projects typically ranging from $500,000 to $10 million. You will draw on a working knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases to assess site exposures and construction risks, analyze and reflect those costs in each estimate, identify constructability issues, and develop value-engineering alternatives. You will work as part of a team, communicate effectively with clients and engineers, and use takeoff, modeling, and bidding software as part of the estimating process. Required Qualifications 5 or more years of civil construction estimating experience, with emphasis on heavy civil, site work, utilities, drainage systems, and roads Experience working for a general contractor as an estimator bidding site work Experience estimating grading and utilities across site development, industrial, commercial, mining reclamation, and overburden removal projects Ability to estimate self-performed work and price labor, equipment, and material costs Ability to produce estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings through final contract estimates Ability to assess construction risk and identify constructability and value-engineering issues Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe Ability to communicate effectively with clients and engineers Preferred Qualifications Four-year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (will consider an Associate's or partial degree with relevant experience) Experience with B2W (Bid2Win) or HCSS HeavyBid Experience with Agtek, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, or other takeoff and modeling software Experience estimating projects in the $500,000 to $10 million range Compensation and Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Bonus eligibility Company computer Structured environment with a project pipeline extending beyond one year Training and advancement opportunities Paid time off To apply, submit your resume through the application link.
