Wastewater Facility Construction Estimator Alliance Construction Sioux Falls, SD Posted/Updated:
Today Job Description Wastewater Treatment Facility Construction Estimator As a Wastewater Estimator, you will be part of the business development team and will be involved in identifying opportunities, creating proposal packages and pursuing the opportunity to conclusion. Duties will include opportunity identification, bid / no-bid decision with the management, quantity take offs for assigned projects, requesting market pricing for various civil, mechanical and electrical items, putting together the proposal package, attending bid openings, pre bid meetings and putting together a qualifications package. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is ambitious and willing to put in the effort to grow with the company. Duties and responsibilities Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Reviews and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit price and manhour costs. Provides technical input regarding project and contract risks to lead estimator responsible for final bid price approval. Reviews final estimate to ensure defined work aligns with overall project schedule and cost goals. Prepares discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work. Calculates material quantity requirements from engineering drawing dimensions. Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Perform additional assignments per management's direction. Monitors client addendum and advises the estimating team on changes during the estimate period. Assists with design review options and recommends best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials. Partners with estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between business development team and project management team. Research and recommend vendors and subcontractors for designated scopes of work to achieve schedule and cost goals. Performs work on multiple projects concurrently with ability to prioritize. Qualifications Associate's degree in engineering, Construction Management or related field required. 8+ years of experience in Water and Wastewater construction industry required. 3+ years of experience in estimating water / wastewater treatment projects required. Specialized knowledge and experience in alternative construction delivery methods will be a plus Advanced knowledge HCSS, Estimating Software Communication and interpersonal skills for clear and effective support research, recommendations and pricing. Strong technical writing skills. Time management and strong prioritization skills to meet tight turnaround and bid deadlines.
