Job Description

Estimator / Project Manager Join an employee-owned company where your hard work directly contributes to the success of the business and your future. Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator / Project Manager to join our employee-owned team. As a small-town construction company and building materials supplier, we work on a wide range of projects, including material packages, agricultural buildings, shops, additions, remodels, and custom homes. This role combines estimating and project management, with the majority of time focused on small to mid-sized projects. Because we are a small company, our team members wear many hats. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with customers, preparing estimates, coordinating projects, visiting jobsites, and solving problems wherever needed. Responsibilities Prepare accurate estimates for material packages, agricultural buildings, shops, additions, remodels, and custom homes. Review plans, specifications, and material takeoffs to develop project budgets. Solicit pricing and coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers. Manage projects from planning through completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination. Monitor project progress, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Track costs, change orders, and project profitability. Communicate effectively with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members. Assist with day-to-day operations and provide practical solutions in a small business environment. Perform occasional field support, troubleshooting, or minor repairs when needed. Qualifications Experience in construction estimating, project management, or both. Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial construction. Experience with agricultural buildings, shops, additions, remodels, and custom homes is preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications. Hands-on construction experience and understanding of jobsite operations. Carpentry skills and the ability to perform minor repairs or field support are a strong plus. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office is preferred. Why Join Us? As an employee-owner, you'll have a direct stake in the success of the company. We offer the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, build strong customer relationships, and make a meaningful impact in a company that values teamwork, integrity, and hard work. If you're looking for a role that offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to grow with an employee-owned company, we'd love to hear from you.
