This role is critical to our growth—responsible for bidding work, closing jobs, and building lasting client relationships . The ideal candidate has hands-on welding experience , understands how jobs are built in the field and shop, and can confidently translate drawings into accurate, profitable estimates . This is not just an estimating role—you must be able to sell, follow up, and win work . Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for: Structural steel Steel erection Stairs, handrails, and miscellaneous metals Custom fabrication projects and repairs Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications Use AutoCAD and Bluebeam for takeoffs, markups, and scope review Utilize estimating software to build detailed cost breakdowns (labor, materials, equipment) Manage the full sales cycle: Respond to inbound leads Conduct site visits (when needed) Follow up on bids Close work Build and maintain strong client relationships with GCs, contractors, and direct customers Communicate clearly with the shop and field teams to ensure accurate scope and execution Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and increased profitability Track bids, approvals, and pipeline activity to meet weekly sales targets What We're Looking For Prior experience estimating: Structural steel Steel erection Stairs, handrails, and miscellaneous metals Hands-on welding/fabrication background (required) Proficiency in: AutoCAD Bluebeam Estimating software Strong understanding of shop + field operations Proven ability to sell, follow up, and win projects Self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently Excellent communication and relationship-building skills High attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy Preferred (But Not Required) Experience working with commercial contractors and bid platforms Knowledge of
