Job Description
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB), construction estimating, or technical sales is required.
Demonstrated experience working with complex projects such as cranes, mezzanines, multi-building systems, hangars, or plan & spec work is strongly preferred.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with internal technical services/engineering teams, as well as external customers, contractors, and architects, is required.
Demonstrated ability to support or drive project-based sales, including customer follow-up, scope alignment, and closing support.
Proven ability to influence project outcomes, pricing, and customer decisions is strongly preferred.
Experience with metal building design software (MBS preferred) or similar estimating/design tools is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Excel for takeoffs, markups, and pricing analysis is strongly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specification documents (CSI format) is required.
Working knowledge of IBC and general building code principles is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, coupled with attention to detail and organizational ability.
Sales experience in the metal building industry is highly preferred.
Ability to travel on a periodic basis as needed to support customers, projects, and internal collaboration.
A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of formal degree requirements.
Additional InformationThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $65,000 - $75,000 + sales incentive + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. RESPONSIBILITIESDeal Ownership & Sales ExecutionCo-own complex opportunities from intake through closeDrive follow-up cadence and support closing strategy through pricing alignment and scope clarityGather and apply market feedback (pricing, competitors, lead times)Contribute to achieving team sales, margin, and win rate objectivesTechnical Sales & EstimatingInterpret architectural drawings, specs, and customer requirementsPerform takeoffs and develop accurate, qualified proposalsEnsure scopes are clear, complete, and protect the company from riskOptimize building design for cost, constructability, and competitivenessCustomer & Market EngagementAct as a direct customer-facing resource alongside branch salesBuild relationships with contractors, architects, and end usersLead or support project review discussions and order reviewsProvide consultative guidance on building systems and design decisionsEngineering EnablementIdentify and resolve engineering warnings prior to submissionReduce unnecessary engineering cycles and protect turnaround timesCollaborate with Technical Services on complex designs and edge casesSales Coaching & DevelopmentTrain and actively coach branch sales to improve project qualification, scope development, follow-up discipline, and effective utilization of Complex ProjectsProvide feedback loops to improve sales quality and efficiencyProject Support & ExecutionPartner with Project Coordinators to manage change orders, customer communication, and expectation alignment throughout design, detailing, and fabricationManage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining responsiveness, accuracy, and timeline commitmentsQualifications Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
