Construction Estimator

Benchmark Building & Construction is a 19-year-old construction company in Cleburne, Texas. We build residential metal buildings, commercial PEMB projects, structural steel work, and custom homes. We are hiring one organized construction operator to own estimating, quote follow-up, and the pipeline process as we grow from $14M toward $60M. This is not an admin seat. This is a problem-owner seat. Role You work with the Benchmark team to move estimating work into a clear system. You help turn loose customer details, price sheets, labor inputs, material costs, and subcontractor numbers into clean estimates and clean next steps. The right person may come from an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Pre-Construction Coordinator, Estimating Coordinator, or Construction Coordinator role.

Compensation Base pay:

$55,000

Performance Bonus:

up to $10,000 Growth path: Broader operations leadership if you prove you can own the work. Responsibilities Review new residential and commercial estimate requests. Organize project details, scope gaps, costs, and follow-up dates. Build draft estimates from Benchmark's reference files. Protect margin before estimates go out. Keep estimate status' visible each Monday. Follow up with customers and stale quote requests. Write and improve the estimating SOP. Own the fix when tools, files, or workflows break. Results We Expect Every open estimate has an owner, status, next step, and follow-up date. Late follow-ups get cleaned up each week. The estimating SOP gets better after each live estimate. Within 90 days, SOP and performance is assessed. Requirements 1+ year in construction, estimating, project coordination, or assistant PM work. Strong organization with messy job details. Comfort with spreadsheets, price sheets, and basic margin math. Clear written communication. High project ownership Willingness to learn Benchmark's process and document work. Able to work from Cleburne, Texas and active job context around the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
