This pivotal role combines strategic sales leadership with technical estimating expertise to drive growth within the waterworks industry. The successful candidate will manage outside sales efforts, develop new business opportunities, and provide accurate project estimates for water infrastructure projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead business development initiatives, foster client relationships, and contribute to the company's expansion in a competitive market. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, technical sales experience, and a customer-focused approach to deliver exceptional service and solutions. Duties Lead and execute outside sales activities to identify and secure new waterworks projects, building a robust pipeline of prospects. Develop tailored project estimates by analyzing technical specifications, project requirements, and market conditions. Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with clients, contractors, engineers, and municipal agencies through proactive account management. Collaborate with marketing teams to develop strategies that enhance brand visibility and market penetration in the water infrastructure sector. Utilize CRM tools such as Salesforce to track sales activities, manage customer data, and generate sales forecasts. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to achieve mutually beneficial agreements while maintaining company profitability. Provide technical support during project planning stages, including site assessments and solution recommendations. Lead business development initiatives by researching industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities. Coordinate with internal teams—such as engineering and operations—to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction. Analyze sales data to identify growth opportunities and optimize sales strategies for increased market share. Requirements Proven experience in outside sales within the waterworks or related infrastructure industries; B2B sales experience is highly desirable. Strong management skills with the ability to lead projects and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively. Demonstrated success in technical sales, including providing detailed estimates and solutions for complex projects. Familiarity with marketing principles relevant to industrial sectors to support business growth initiatives. Proficiency in using Salesforce or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software for tracking sales activities. Excellent negotiation skills coupled with strong analysis capabilities to evaluate project viability and profitability. Experience in business development strategies aimed at expanding market presence. Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on building trustful client relationships. Leadership qualities that motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment. Technical knowledge of water systems, piping materials, installation processes, and relevant regulations is preferred.
