Estimator/Programmer (In Office)

DFW Sheet Metal is seeking an entry level estimator/programmer to join the team. No estimating or programming experience required for the right candidate. Must be detail-oriented, comfortable with numbers, able to understand drawings, and eager to learn the estimating process for commercial sheet metal ductwork. Candidate must be computer literate, with experience with using microsoft word, excel and any advance computer programs is a plus. The candidate must be proficient in reading. Ideal candidate should have the ability to do the following. Ability to learn how to interpret construction drawings and specifications Basic ability to visualize projects from plans and sketches Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn estimating processes Ability to understand how drawings translate into fabrication and installation Good spatial reasoning and attention to detail Ability to think through project scope and ask questions when needed Mechanical aptitude and interest in construction systems Candidate must be comfortable in working in a busy office environment with changing priorities and time-sensitive deadlines. Can cross train and wear multiple hats in order to pivot to another task.
