This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates, managing project schedules, coordinating materials, communicating with contractors and suppliers, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This is NOT an entry-level position . Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in the glass and aluminum storefront industry is required . Candidates must be able to confidently read plans, perform takeoffs, understand storefront systems, and manage commercial glazing projects with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate has experience with: Commercial aluminum storefront systems Insulated glass units (IGU) Curtain wall and glazing systems Construction drawings and specifications Commercial project coordination Material procurement and scheduling Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating Duties Review architectural plans, elevations, and specifications Perform detailed material takeoffs for: Aluminum storefront systems Curtain wall systems Insulated glass units Mirrors and specialty glazing Calculate labor, equipment, fabrication, and material costs Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages Request and compare supplier pricing Coordinate RFIs and clarifications with contractors and architects Maintain estimating spreadsheets and cost databases Track awarded vs estimated project performance Project Management Duties Manage projects from award through closeout Coordinate shop drawings and submittals Order materials and monitor lead times Schedule fabrication and installation crews Coordinate with general contractors, suppliers, and field personnel Attend project meetings and perform site visits as needed Manage project schedules and ensure deadlines are met Review and price change orders Track project costs, billing, and progress payments Ensure punch list items are completed promptly Required Qualifications Minimum 3+ years experience in commercial glazing, storefront, or aluminum systems Strong knowledge of: Aluminum storefront systems Commercial glass and glazing applications Insulated and tempered glass Storefront hardware and fabrication Ability to read and interpret commercial construction plans and specifications Experience performing takeoffs and preparing estimates Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Proficiency with: Microsoft Excel WinBid (GDS Estmating) Procore (preferred) Microsoft Outlook Preferred Qualifications Experience with Trulite, Kawneer, YKK, Oldcastle, or similar systems Familiarity with commercial construction scheduling and coordination Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Valid driver's license Responsibilities OverviewEstimating ✔ Material takeoffs ✔ Bid preparation ✔ Supplier pricing ✔ Change orders ✔ Budget tracking Project Management ✔ Scheduling ✔ Material coordination ✔ Installation oversight ✔ Client communication ✔ Billing & closeout Ideal Candidate We are looking for a self-driven professional with strong commercial glazing knowledge who can confidently estimate and manage aluminum storefront and glass projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate must be organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and field crews.
