Job Description

Heavy Civil Estimator - Tactical Demolition Tactical Demolition is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Heavy Civil Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in demolition, excavation, earthwork, and heavy civil construction estimating. This position plays a critical role in preparing competitive and accurate bids while supporting the successful execution of projects from pre-construction through completion.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for demolition and heavy civil projects Review plans, specifications, drawings, and other bid documents Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, trucking, and subcontractors Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks as needed Work closely with project managers and field operations to develop accurate project scopes and schedules Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions Maintain organized bid files and estimating databases Assist with contract negotiations and project handoff after award
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in demolition, heavy civil, excavation, or related construction fields Strong understanding of demolition means and methods, earthwork, utilities, concrete, and site development Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple bids simultaneously Valid driver's license required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience estimating public and private projects Knowledge of local subcontractors and suppliers Experience with Bluebeam, HCSS, HeavyBid, or similar estimating software
