Position Summary The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves evaluating project requirements, analyzing plans and specifications, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and developing bid proposals. The Estimator works closely with project managers, clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are priced accurately and delivered within budget expectations. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects. Review project plans, specifications, and technical documents to determine project scope and requirements. Analyze labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs. Source and evaluate suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. Prepare and submit bid proposals and supporting documentation. Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during preconstruction planning. Review job specifications and identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities. Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation. Assist with budgeting and financial analysis for upcoming projects. Ensure estimates align with project timelines, budgets, and client requirements. Support contract negotiations and vendor communications as needed. Qualifications Required Skills Strong knowledge of cost estimating, budgeting, and financial analysis. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. Experience with bidding processes, vendor management, and procurement. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Effective communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills. Proficiency with project management and estimating software. Preferred Qualifications Experience in excavation, demolition, utility construction, civil construction, or related industries. Knowledge of construction safety regulations and compliance standards. Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred, but not required. Work Environment Full-time, on-site position.
