Job Description

A Brief Overview The Estimator uses computer technology and mathematical skill to prepare an estimation of the amount of material needed for the construction of a home in accordance with Company policies. What you will do Estimate the amount of materials needed for home construction according to company policy and local building code. Assist salesmen as needed with customer orders and materials lists. Assist in trim take-offs as requested. Provide assistance to contractors as needed. Train sales representatives in estimating techniques. Assist sales staff with blueprint reading and construction procedures. Review actual vs. estimated materials on completion of each project. Work on sales/ hardware counter as assigned. Control expenditures to conform to company budgetary requirements. Required For All Jobs Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Adhere to Company's commitment to workplace safety. Participate in and complete assigned trainings. Education Qualifications Associate's Degree in engineering or related area required. Experience Qualifications 1-3 years construction and building materials related experience required. Skills and Abilities Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials. Ability to interpret building plans in diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables. Ability to operate networked computer systems and specialized software application programs and to instruct others in effective use of application software. Must have excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills. Understanding of measurements and basic math principles. . US LBM Holdings, LLC, is an equal-opportunity employer.
