$80,000 - $110,000 YEAR The HT Group is partnering with a well-establishedmercial construction organization in the Austin area seeking an experienced Preconstruction Estimator to join their team. This individual will play a key role in leading estimating efforts from early concept through final bid, working cross-functionally with design, operations, and business development teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both the technical and strategic aspects of preconstruction, while also building strong relationships with subcontractors and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Design-Build experience within institutional construction, and is flexible with travel requirements. Key Responsibilities Preconstruction & Estimating Lead estimating efforts from conceptual budgeting through final pricing across multiple project delivery methods Develop detailed budgets at various stages (conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP) Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to produce accurate cost estimates Perform quantity takeoffs, pricing analysis, and value engineering rmendations Continuously update estimates based on design changes, scope revisions, and market conditions Maintain and leverage historical cost data to support accurate forecasting Assist with bid leveling, scope review, and subcontractor negotiations Subcontractor & Vendor Management Identify, qualify, and build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers Manage bid solicitation processes and ensurepetitive,plete coverage Evaluate subcontractor proposals to ensure alignment with project scope and risk considerations Promote inclusive bidding practices and engagement with diverse trade partners Qualifications 5-10+ years of experience in construction estimating, preconstruction, or related roles Strong background inmercial, institutional, or education-related construction projects preferred Experience with conceptual estimating and managing multiple projects simultaneously Proficiency in estimating and construction software (Sage/Timberline, eTakeoff, Bluebeam, etc.) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and cost drivers Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
