Commercial Roofing Estimator

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating, roofing systems, and project management principles. The estimator will play a critical role in securing new business and maintaining cost control throughout the project lifecycle, contributing to the company's growth and reputation for excellence in commercial roofing projects. Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate roofing project estimates using estimating software tools. Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work and pricing strategies. Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms that align with project budgets. Develop comprehensive proposals including cost analysis, material quantities, labor requirements, and schedule considerations. Assist in contract negotiations and review contractual obligations to ensure scope compliance. Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process to maintain profitability and support cost control initiatives. Coordinate with construction management teams to ensure estimates align with project timelines and site conditions. Stay updated on industry trends, roofing materials, construction techniques, and regulatory requirements relevant to commercial roofing projects. Support project management teams during the execution phase by providing accurate cost data and assisting with change order evaluations. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably within commercial roofing or related construction fields. Proficiency with digital plan review and markup. Experience with estimating software is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes, cost control methods, pricing strategies, and contract management. Familiarity with construction site operations, safety standards, and project management principles. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with clients and suppliers to achieve favorable terms. Prior experience working on construction projects involving roof systems or roofing materials is preferred. Excellent communication skills combined with a detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in all estimates and proposals.
