Senior Estimator San Antonio, Texas Structural Steel Fabrication & Erection This opportunity is with a well-established and rapidly growing structural steel fabrication and erection organization supporting complex commercial and industrial projects throughout Texas. The company is seeking a Senior Estimator who understands how structural steel projects are actually built, not just priced from drawings. This role requires someone capable of balancing detailed takeoffs, fabrication realities, erection sequencing, subcontractor coordination, vendor pricing, and operational execution while supporting multiple active bids simultaneously. The environment is fast-moving, operationally demanding, and highly collaborative. Strong performers within the organization tend to be practical, detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and comfortable operating with accountability and ownership. What You'll Do Prepare detailed structural steel takeoffs from drawings and specifications Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and buyout pricing Review project documents for scope gaps, constructability concerns, and estimating risk Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and scope clarification Communicate directly with general contractors throughout the bidding process Support proposal development including qualifications, exclusions, and clarifications Work closely with operational leadership to develop executable and competitive estimates Track bid activity, project opportunities, and estimating schedules Support preconstruction planning and operational alignment prior to project award What We're Looking For 5+ years of structural steel estimating experience Strong commercial and/or industrial structural steel background Experience supporting fabrication and/or erection estimating scopes Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills Comfortable managing multiple active bids and deadlines simultaneously Strong communication and organizational abilities Operationally minded with practical construction awareness Preferred Experience Bluebeam On-Screen Takeoff Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities AISC standards and structural steel construction practices Experience supporting both fabrication and field erection operations Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field What's Offered Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits package 401(k) with company match Strong organizational stability and growth trajectory Leadership visibility and advancement opportunity Employee-focused culture with strong operational support Opportunity to support meaningful commercial and industrial steel projects across Texas
