Job Description
Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by providing accurate cost estimates and bids for various steel projects. This position requires a strong understanding of construction and steel processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Analyze project plans and specifications to determine necessary resources and costs. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather information for estimates. Utilize estimating software to create comprehensive proposals. Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Assist in contract preparation and review, ensuring all terms are favorable for the company. Provide support in project management activities, including scheduling and resource allocation. Skills Proficient in construction estimating software, particularly Tekla and ProCore Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing competitive pricing. In-depth knowledge of construction and steel processes, including site experience, steel fabrication and management practices. Familiarity with cost control measures and pricing strategies within the construction industry. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets related to contracts and project management. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
