Job Description

Established North Texas construction company, is searching for an Estimator to be an integral part of a growing and exciting team of individuals in a diversified and successful company. Projects vary from commercial interior finish-outs to ground-up commercial construction and can range from 500 sq. ft. to 50,000 sq. ft. The individual we are looking for should be detail-oriented and one who will obtain all relevant project specifications and secure favorable prices on all resources. You should be able to inspect trends in construction to determine whether your estimates are both reasonable and competitive.
Responsibilities:
  • Acquire an understanding of the requirements of each project by evaluating proposals, specifications, blueprints, and constructions documents
  • Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determine the overall cost for each project
  • Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain bids and build upon already existing pricing knowledge
  • Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Communicate to clients, subcontractors, and others on the Bluestone team
  • Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties
Qualifications and Skills:
  • BA in engineering, construction or another related field
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience in TI's
  • Certified Professional Estimator would be a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfortable with numbers and negotiating
  • Basic understanding of accounting and construction project management
