We are a group of highly talented tight-knit construction professionals mixed with strategic and passionate individuals focused on executing projects and supplying the best-curated products from around the world. CP Build is looking for an experienced and motivated Estimator to join our growing team. Based in Salt Lake City, you will be responsible for work that will directly impact the project outcome and sales growth of the organization. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a high-growth, hard-working environment and will roll up their sleeves to do whatever is necessary to push the company forward while contributing to the strategic direction of the organization. You should have experience balancing the need for processes with promoting autonomy and excessive communication. Roles & Responsibilities Review and analyze drawings and specifications to prepare cost, material, and labor estimates on new projects presented and vetted by the Business Development team Prepare budgets and quotes for projects of varying sizes, complexity, and type. Work closely with Business Development teams through this process Prepare conceptual proposals with minimal project information Provide preconstruction services for projects including estimating of shop drawing milestones, value engineering, constructability, schedule review, maintaining and identifying long-lead items Lead bid preparation process (in conjunction with Business Development) and consistently meet deadlines for submission Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects, and revise pricing as needed Generate quantity take-offs for various elements including, but not limited to: cabinets, countertops, lighting, plumbing fixtures, flooring, bath accessories, mirrors, etc. Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in Commercial Construction. 2+ years of experience as an Estimator, or a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 2+ years hands on experience with Estimating software such as Bluebeam, Measure Square, OST, or similar tools. Ability to interact with owners, contractors, designers, and subcontractors to effectively present information and answer questions such as budgets, proposals, bids, value engineering options, etc. Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and challenges daily Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines Excellent written, verbal communication skills Analytical skills and mathematical aptitude Ability to effectively handle multiple projects at the same time Demonstrated ability for accuracy and thoroughness Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate with other project team members Communicate (Strong written, verbal and spoken communication skills) Flexibility/Adaptability (Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions) Calm under pressure (Maintain stable performances when under pressure) Work Ethic (Strong willingness to work hard to get the job done) Efficiency (Significant output with minimal waste) Honesty/Integrity (Does not cut corners, speak plainly, and does what is right) Intelligence (Learns quickly and can understand new info) Analytical (Can Structure data and draw conclusions) Proactive (Acts without being told) Organization & Planning (Focuses on key priorities) Decisive (Makes quick decisions with the information available) Follow-through (Lives up to agreements) Attention to details (Won't let important details slip) Judgment (Anticipates 5 moves ahead) Computer Literate (Proficient with Excel and working knowledge of MS Office) Product Knowledge (Shows understanding of what CP is providing) Understand Estimating Strategies (Markets, Margins, Freight and Labor Rates) Outcomes (Tracks and Communicates Priorities to Contribute to Workload)
Job Type:
Full-time Office Hours:
Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm. This position is a deadline-driven position, which at times may require work outside of office hours. Most Estimators work approximately 45-50 hours per week.
Starting Base Compensation:
Annual Salary depending on experience. This is a benefits-eligible position.
