About Us Melvin T. Morgan Roofing is a trusted, locally owned roofing contractor serving Lynchburg, VA and the surrounding communities. With a reputation built on quality craftsmanship, honest pricing, and exceptional customer service, we handle everything from residential repairs to full commercial installations. We are growing and looking for a motivated Roofing Estimator to join our team. Position Overview As a Roofing Estimator at Melvin T. Morgan Roofing, you will be responsible for evaluating roofing projects, generating accurate cost estimates, and helping close new business. You will serve as a key point of contact for homeowners and commercial clients, guiding them through the estimating process with professionalism and expertise. Key Responsibilities Conduct on-site inspections and measurements of residential and commercial roofing projects Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates using industry-standard software and pricing tools Identify storm damage, wear, and structural issues and document findings for insurance claims Present proposals and estimates to homeowners, property managers, and commercial clients Work closely with the production team to ensure project scopes are clearly communicated Follow up with leads and prospective clients to convert estimates into signed contracts Maintain accurate records of estimates, signed contracts, and project documentation Stay current with material costs, industry trends, and local building codes Represent Melvin T. Morgan Roofing with professionalism at all times Qualifications (estimating, sales,)Roofing / Construction) Strong working knowledge of roofing systems: asphalt shingles, metal, flat/low-slope, and more Experience with roofing estimating software Able to be proficient with computers Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and measurements Familiarity with insurance claims and supplement processes is a strong plus Excellent communication and customer-facing skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Comfortable working at heights and conducting roof-top inspections Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary commensurate with experience Commission structure with strong earning potential Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement Paid time off Ongoing training and professional development opportunities Supportive team environment with room for growth
