Job Description Job Description Job Description A local construction company is looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to contribute to the team of a midsized earthwork and underground utilities construction company, located in Snohomish WA. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator with experience in commercial and/or civil construction projects. The Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications, project plans, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for projects. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of construction processes: earthwork, sewer, water, storm drainage systems, materials, and labor costs, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. The Construction Estimator will continue to grow our business and increase our sales volume.
Responsibilities:
Preparing and generating project quantity takeoffs, bid information compilation, and subcontractor coordination. Solicit subcontractors, vendors, to obtain quote / proposal information for bids. Generate new revenue by securing new contracted work and retaining current customers. Prepare accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other resources. Create formal proposals for bid submissions to customers. Follow up on outstanding bid submissions and secure new customers. Prepare master and look-a-head project schedules. Accurately do take-offs, verify quantities, etc. Communicate with team providing detailed project requirements, ensure a smooth project handoff, and communicate throughout the duration of the project. Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors. Meet sensitive timelines.
Job Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills Good time management and organizational skills Proficiency in HCSS and Heavy Bid Experience with MS Office to include Word, Excel and Project Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, AGTEK, Adobe, Plan-Swift or Blue Beam & Heavy Bid Proven track record of acquiring new business and retaining current business Exceptional communication skills and customer focus approach Organized individual with strong project management skills committed to performing duties with detail and accuracy Have a thorough understanding of how to accurately read construction blueprints/specifications Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed deadline expectations Must have a minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in the construction industry
