In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, primarily focusing on civil infrastructure. Your expertise will help drive project success from initial bidding through project completion, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and site conditions. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost proposals. Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and pricing for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services for public, private, and federal jobs. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate cost data and negotiate fair pricing. Monitor project budgets and perform cost control analyses throughout the project lifecycle. Review contracts and scope of work to ensure estimates align with contractual obligations and project requirements. Assist in bid preparation, including compiling bid packages and submitting proposals within deadlines. Requirements Proven experience in civil construction estimating with a focus on civil infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of construction management processes, contracts, and project management principles. Proficiency in estimating tools such as B2W, HeavyBid, and Bluebeam; experience with additional software is a plus. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from suppliers and subcontractors. Hands-on construction site experience that provides practical understanding of field operations. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents accurately. Effective communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external partners.
