Job Description

About the role We're looking for an experienced Commercial Cabinet Estimator to join our team in the Fox Valley area. In this role, you'll own the estimating process from initial plan review through bid submission — working closely with project managers, clients, and vendors to deliver accurate, competitive proposals for commercial millwork and cabinetry projects. What you'll do Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications to develop detailed material and labor takeoffs Prepare complete cost estimates and bid packages for commercial cabinetry, casework, and architectural millwork projects Source materials and obtain competitive vendor and subcontractor pricing to support accurate bid submissions Communicate directly with general contractors, architects, and clients to clarify scope, address RFIs, and negotiate pricing Manage multiple active bids simultaneously, meeting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy Hand off awarded projects to production and project management with thorough scope documentation Track bid history and results to continuously refine estimating accuracy and win rates What we're looking for 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial cabinetry, millwork, or a related construction trade Strong blueprint reading skills; ability to interpret architectural and shop drawings with precision Proficiency with estimating software (Stack, Edge, or similar) and Microsoft Excel Solid understanding of cabinet construction methods, hardware, and commercial-grade materials Strong math and analytical skills with a sharp eye for detail Clear communicator — comfortable interfacing with clients, GCs, and vendors professionally Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
