Job Summary Estimating Prepare complete cost estimates for all types of electrical projects. Understand/monitor program of work to ensure estimates are completed prior to deadlines. Schedule/attend field walk-through with customer, subcontractor and construction personnel to understand and determine constructability requirements. Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency. Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stake holders. Follow-up at end of projects to close any loops in the estimating process.
Prepare work to be estimated:
gathering proposals, drawings, specifications and related documents. Consult with customers and project managers to gather information to prepare estimates. Obtain bids from vendors and components to ensure accuracy and completeness. Attend job site walkthroughs as necessary. Project Management Prepare project construction schedules. Submit Request for Information to clients. Review and monitor job costs versus budgets. Keep emphasis on the client by developing an understanding of the client's culture, key people and processes. Assist construction personnel throughout the project life-cycle in tracking and understanding basis of cost estimate. Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders. Qualifications 3 or more years' related experience or equivalent education, technical training and experience. Accubid/LiveCount and/or Construction Environment experience a plus. Proficient PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) skills. Strong mathematical skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Customer Oriented
  • Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures. Communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of mediums. Detail Oriented
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
Time Management:
Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Strong mathematical skills. Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles, and drug-test as may be required per federal or client contract, or DOT policy.
