Job Description

Overview Are you organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with numbers? Sheboygan Glass & Glazing is seeking a motivated and analytical individual to join our estimating team as a Junior Estimator . This entry-level position offers hands-on training and mentorship in commercial glass and glazing estimating. You'll learn how to read architectural drawings, perform takeoffs, and develop pricing proposals for storefront, curtain wall, interior glazing, and entrance systems. The ideal candidate will have strong math and computer skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience in construction is a plus—but not required. If you're sharp, hungry to grow, and ready to contribute, we want to hear from you! Duties Assist with reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for glass, aluminum, and related materials Solicit vendor and subcontractor pricing Help prepare and submit formal estimates, budgets, and bid proposals Collaborate with project managers to ensure alignment between estimates and field needs Maintain and update estimating database and historical pricing Attend pre-bid meetings and walkthroughs as needed Communicate with general contractors, architects, and suppliers professionally
Experience Math:
Construction (Algebra, Geometry, Fractions, Decimals, & Measurements) Computer Skills with Familiarity in Microsoft Excel and PDF markup software (e.g., Bluebeam, Adobe) Ability to read basic construction drawings or a strong willingness to learn Highly organized with excellent attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in construction management, drafting, or engineering a plus Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English Join Sheboygan Glass & Glazing as a Junior Estimator and be a part of bringing projects from concept to completion—while building a career in one of the most rewarding trades in construction!
