Job Description

Fabrication Estimator, Industrial Material-Handling Assemblies Where:
Whitewater, WI 53190 Do you enjoy turning drawings into dollars-and-cents clarity? Can you spot the cost impacts of a weld symbol or a material change at a glance? Are you energized by building timely, competitive quotes for custom dollies and racking that keep production teams set up for success? If so, this role is built for you. Your impact in the first 90 days Deliver on-time, detailed quotes that reflect real-world material, labor, tooling, and equipment costs. Establish strong cross-functional rhythms with project managers, engineers, and sales. Bring discipline to cost data—updating and using historical databases to sharpen accuracy. Core responsibilities Analyze RFQs, blueprints, and specifications to produce precise cost estimates for custom metal dollies/racks. Collect inputs from project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to inform estimates. Prepare and submit competitive quotes within required deadlines. Evaluate subcontractor proposals; negotiate pricing and scope where appropriate. Research current market rates for materials, labor, tooling, and equipment to ensure credibility. Maintain a comprehensive cost-history database per established procedures for future reference. Provide estimating support throughout design and manufacturing phases. Track industry trends, market dynamics, and pricing changes to improve estimate quality. Collaborate with the sales team to craft strategies and proposals that win work. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Must-have qualifications Hands-on estimating experience in a metal fabrication setting. Deep familiarity with fabrication processes, materials, and cost structures. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong math and analytical capabilities. Proven ability to interpret drawings, specs, and blueprints. High accuracy and attention to detail. Effective communicator and negotiator. Ability to work independently and meet aggressive timelines. Excellent organization and time management skills.
