Job Description
Mining Equipment/Heavy Equipment Project Estimator Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Mining Equipment/Heavy Equipment Project Estimator The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical knowledge of mining equipment and heavy equipment with an in-depth understanding of mechanical and electrical systems; be proficient at reading and interpreting technical drawings and mechanical specifications; pay strong attention to detail; and possess excellent business writing skills with the drive to see projects through to completion.Key Responsibilities:
Communicate with sales, production and purchasing teams to gather technical data needed to create estimates and bids Perform necessary research to prepare bids: gain an understanding of customer's specifications for the project, interpret technical drawings and mechanical specifications, review historical budgets vs actual cost, perform practical cost-analysis, blueprint reading Develop and prepare accurate detailed cost estimates and professional bids and project proposals for mining equipment remanufacture and other large fabrication and assembly projects Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats Contribute to team success by bringing energy, professionalism, and attention to detailQualifications:
- At least a 2-year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
- In depth knowledge of underground mining equipment systems, heavy equipment and specifications will be considered in lieu of degree
- Experience in estimating, bidding or technical sales—preferably in a heavy equipment, mining or remanufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Other related computer programs such as AutoCAD a plus
- Related Computer assisted programs are a plus such as
AUTOCAD, MS
Dynamics, etc.- Self-starter with ability to manage priorities in fast-paced, shop-floor-integrated environment The successful candidate will be honest, exhibit an extremely high level of integrity, dependable, capable and eager to accept responsibility.
