Job Title:
Flooring Installer Job Description Join a full-time flooring installation team where you will install laminate and vinyl flooring with precision, prepare and restore surfaces, and contribute to a variety of construction and remodeling projects. You will use a wide range of hand and power tools, interpret blueprints and schematics, and ensure high-quality finishes in both new installations and restoration work. Responsibilities Execute flooring installation projects, including laminate and vinyl flooring, with a high level of precision and attention to detail. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate measurement, layout, and placement of flooring materials. Prepare surfaces for installation by performing concrete finishing, floor leveling, floor prep work, and water damage restoration to create optimal installation conditions. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, fitting, caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and final finishing touches. Conduct restoration work on damaged floors, including those affected by water or other issues, and restore surfaces to their original condition or better. Assist with remodeling projects by providing expert input on flooring options and coordinating with other trades such as cabinet installation and construction painting. Maintain a clean and organized work area by buffing floors, performing routine floor care, and adhering to safety protocols at all times. Transport, organize, and maintain personal tools and equipment required to complete flooring installations effectively. Collaborate with team members and other trades on construction sites to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to quality standards. Essential Skills Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction fields. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, technical drawings, and schematics for accurate installations. Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, buffing equipment, and other construction tools. Knowledge of flooring restoration practices, including water damage restoration and floor care techniques. Familiarity with carpentry-related tasks such as trim carpentry, fixture installation, concrete finishing, remodeling, and cabinet installation. Demonstrated construction site experience with a strong focus on safety awareness and teamwork. Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail in all aspects of flooring work. Ability to work full-time and complete flooring installations using personally owned tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with laminate flooring materials and installation methods. Background in construction, baseboard installation, and general flooring installation. Bilingual communication skills are a plus. Comfort working with a variety of flooring types and finishes. Ability to coordinate effectively with other trades such as painters and cabinet installers. Why Work Here? The work involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, buffing equipment, and other flooring and construction tools. You are expected to bring and maintain your own core tools necessary to complete flooring installations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montclair, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
