About Peacock Floors Peacock Floors is a 45 year family owned flooring company based in San Francisco. We deliver commercial flooring installations for general contractors, property managers, and design teams across the Bay Area. We are LBE certified and we keep a steady pipeline of commercial work year round. We are hiring experienced commercial flooring installers who want a steady home with a clear path to lead installer. Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Commercial Flooring Installer who can run a job from prep to final walkthrough. You will install commercial grade materials including luxury vinyl tile, commercial carpet tile, broadloom, hardwood, and resilient sheet goods. You will read plans, prep substrates, and deliver finished work to commercial specification on tenant improvement, retail, office, healthcare, and hospitality projects. Key ResponsibilitiesSite Preparation Remove and dispose of existing flooring. Clean substrates and address moisture, cracks, and high spots. Apply patch and self leveling compounds to meet flatness requirements. Installation Measure, cut, and install commercial flooring materials to spec. Use the correct adhesives, fasteners, and heat welding techniques for the product. Hand cut and template around fixtures, columns, and irregular layouts. Plan Reading Read architectural drawings, finish schedules, and product spec sheets. Determine layout, seam placement, transitions, and material quantities in the field. Flag field conditions that conflict with the plans before they become a problem. Finishing Install base, transitions, reducers, and trim. Apply sealants and grout where required. Complete punch list items to commercial specification. Quality and Safety Inspect finished work for gaps, lippage, telegraphing, and other defects. Repair as needed. Follow site safety protocols on active construction sites. Wear required PPE including respiratory and eye protection. Communication Coordinate professionally with general contractors, superintendents, and clients on site. Keep work areas clean and organized at all times. Report daily progress to the project lead. Required Qualifications 2 or more years of commercial flooring installation experience. Hands on experience with luxury vinyl tile, commercial carpet tile, broadloom, and resilient sheet goods. Ability to read floor plans and finish schedules. Proficient with installation tools including power stretchers, seam irons, heat welders, tile cutters, and power saws. Strong basic math for measuring, layout, and material estimation. Physical stamina to lift 50 plus pounds, kneel for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver license and reliable transportation to job sites across the Bay Area. Own basic hand tools. Preferred Qualifications Hardwood and epoxy coating experience. Experience on prevailing wage job sites. Ability to lead a small crew on site. Bilingual English and Spanish. What We Offer Steady commercial work across the Bay Area year round. $55.00 - $95.00 per hour
