Job Description We are seeking an experienced Residential Flooring Outside Estimator who combines strong flooring knowledge with a sales-driven mindset . This role goes beyond measuring—you are the final in-home representative before the sale, responsible for building trust, reinforcing value, and supporting the close. The ideal candidate understands residential flooring, communicates confidently with homeowners, recognizes opportunities to help convert estimates into completed projects, and utilizes digital measuring tools. Responsibilities Measure residential homes for flooring installations accurately and efficiently Apply expert knowledge of carpet, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, and stairs Evaluate residential job-site conditions including subfloors, transitions, door clearances, furniture, and floor prep needs Professionally engage with homeowners and reinforce the sales message during in-home visits Identify and communicate upgrade opportunities (additional rooms, stair work, floor prep, product changes) Help address homeowner questions or objections by explaining installation needs and value Create detailed measurement reports, diagrams, and notes Work closely with sales and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution Required Qualifications Proven residential flooring experience (measuring, installation, estimating, or in-home sales support) Strong understanding of residential flooring products and installation methods Sales mentality with strong customer-facing communication skills Ability to build rapport and maintain professionalism in occupied homes Excellent math skills and attention to detail Ability to sketch layouts, including stairs and multi-room projects Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Basic computer or mobile app proficiency Preferred Qualifications Background as a residential flooring installer, estimator, or outside sales professional Experience supporting or closing in-home flooring sales Familiarity with digital measuring tools and estimating software
