Job Summary Join our dynamic construction team as a Floor Covering Apprentice and kick-start your career in the vibrant world of flooring installation! This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in installing a variety of flooring materials, including tile, carpet, laminate, and hardwood. Under the guidance of seasoned professionals, you'll develop essential skills in construction and the use of hand and power tools. Support senior installers in laying tiles, carpeting, hardwood, or laminate flooring according to project specifications. Learn to read schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate installation. Help with site preparation tasks such as demolition, surface leveling, and moisture mitigation. Participate in floor care activities including buffing, cleaning, and maintenance to ensure high-quality finishes. Aid in the installation of fixtures, trim carpentry, caulking, and cabinet setups as needed for complete room finishes. Requirements Strong interest in construction trades with a focus on flooring installation and related fields. Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction site safety protocols. Willingness to learn about tile laying, caulking, carpentry, restoration industry practices, and fixture installation. Good physical stamina for standing, lifting materials, and working at heights or on uneven surfaces. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work on your knees for extended periods of time. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to collaborate effectively with experienced tradespeople.
