Job Description
Who Are We and What We Do? The Detroit Area Agency on Aging (DAAA) Region 1-A is a private, non-profit organization responsible for planning, coordinating, developing, and funding services for older adults in the cities of Detroit, the five Grosse Pointes, Hamtramck, Harper Woods, and Highland Park. The Technical Navigator Installer is an Independent Contractor responsible for the successful in-home installation, setup, and participant onboarding of Ring devices for older adults enrolled in the Community Safety Initiative. This role combines event support, participant intake, scheduling, and field installation to ensure participants receive a fully operational device and understand how to use it. The Project timeframe is from April 2026-August 2026.
Primary Responsibilities:
Event Responsibilities Attend a minimum of one assigned Wellness Center event monthly to sign-up potential installations. Facilitate participant intake and review eligibility criteria AND confirm all required participant contact information at the table. Distribute and install a minimum of 45 Ring camera devices monthly to approved participants. Schedule in-home installation appointments on-site using the shared Teams calendar between 9 am and 5pmInstallation Responsibilities:
Travel to participant homes to complete device installation. Mount device using provided equipment and approved mounting tools. Connect device to participant Wi-Fi and smartphone/tablet. Ensure participants understand basic device use and subscription setup. Document completed installations and obtained signed waivers. Demonstrated experience using smartphones, tablets, email, and Microsoft Teams Experience using basic power tools safely Strong communication skills with older adults Ability to follow scheduling systems and documentation requirements • Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation for in-home visits Core Competencies This individual must be able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exercise sound judgment, and activities.
