Job Description

Gym Floor Finishing Crew Lead (Seasonal) Hillyard, Inc. is currently seeking a Gym Floor Finishing Crew Lead to join our team for a seasonal opportunity. Are you looking for a seasonal position where you can stay active, travel, work with your hands, and lead a team? This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in delivering high-quality results, and naturally steps into leadership roles. As a Crew Lead, you'll help coordinate daily project activities, mentor team members, and play a key role in restoring and refinishing athletic flooring for schools and facilities throughout the region. If you're dependable, motivated, and enjoy seeing the results of your work at the end of each project, we'd like to hear from you. What You'll Do Lead and support a crew performing gym floor refinishing and restoration projects. Assist with moving equipment, materials, and supplies to and from job sites. Prepare floors for refinishing, including sweeping, vacuuming, masking, and surface preparation. Support and oversee the floor abrasion and refinishing process. Apply floor finishes and coatings according to project specifications. Delegate daily tasks and help ensure projects stay on schedule. Train and mentor crew members on proper procedures, techniques, and safety practices. Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment. Communicate effectively with team members and project leadership throughout each project. What We're Looking For High School Diploma or
GED. 1-2
years of gym floor finishing, floor refinishing, construction, maintenance, flooring, or related experience preferred. Natural leadership abilities and a willingness to help guide and support team members. Strong work ethic, dependability, and accountability. Ability to work in a physically active, hands-on environment. Strong communication, troubleshooting, and time-management skills. Commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Must be willing to travel to project locations. Must be at least 21 years of age.
