Job Description
About the Role Halstead Residential is hiring a full-time Flooring Installer to install our standardized click-lock
LVP / SPC
plank flooring across our growing apartment portfolio in the Cleveland area. Our portfolio includes approximately 150 units across 9 properties on Cleveland's West Side, and we're growing quickly. We're a fast-growing, owner-operated multifamily company building a real team — you'd be one of our first dedicated flooring hires, not a number in a corporate system. We source our flooring on a locked spec, so you'll be installing the same plank, the same way, unit after unit. We're looking for a fast, accurate installer who can prep a subfloor, lay click-lock plank with tight seams and clean stagger, and finish out transitions and base — to a rent-ready standard, on a turn timeline. Responsibilities You'll handle a mix of unit-turn flooring installs and finish work, including: Installing click-lock
LVP / SPC
plank flooring on vacant unit turns Subfloor prep: cleaning, checking for moisture, and leveling minor high/low spots Installing underlayment where specified Layout, racking, and cutting for straight runs, tight seams, and proper stagger Installing transitions, T-moldings, reducers, and thresholds at doorways Removing and reinstalling baseboard and/or quarter-round Demo and haul-out of existing carpet, vinyl, pad, and tack strip Installing to Halstead's locked flooring spec (SKU, plank, and install pattern) Taking before-and-after photos and updating work orders clearly Coordinating with the turn technician on sequencing and material drops This role is not expected to handle tile, hardwood refinishing, carpet stretching, or major subfloor reconstruction. We have vendors for specialized work. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate has: Prior LVP, SPC, click-lock, or laminate flooring install experience Clean, fast, accurate cuts; understands expansion gaps and acclimation Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle (you'll travel between properties) Own flooring tools — tapping block, pull bar, spacers, jamb saw, miter/table saw, knee pads (we provide materials, underlayment, transitions, and all SKUs) Ability to read a room, plan the layout, and minimize waste Ability to work independently and manage your own day Good communication with tenants and the internal team Pride in tight, rental-grade installs Comfort working in occupied and vacant apartments Ability to prioritize urgent turns Dependability — showing up matters LVP / click-lock install experience is strongly preferred, but we're also open to a strong laminate or general flooring installer who wants steady full-time work and room to grow. What Matters Most We care more about reliability, judgment, and execution than a perfect résumé. You should be the type of person who can walk a unit and say: — "This subfloor needs leveling before I lay anything." — "I can floor this unit in a day." — "This box is off-spec — wrong SKU." — "These seams are tight and the stagger's clean." — "Here's the material and transitions I need." We value reliability, clear communication, and sound judgment above all. Compensation & Benefits Pay range is $22-$28/hour, depending on experience, speed, tools, transportation, and ability to work independently. Benefits package discussed at interview for qualified candidates. There's room to grow as the portfolio grows. A strong installer can eventually grow into a Lead Installer or Flooring Crew Lead role. Schedule & On-Call Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with on-call availability for after-hours emergencies. To Apply Please send a short message with: Your flooring, LVP, SPC, or click-lock install experience Whether you have reliable transportation Whether you have your own tools Your desired rate (hourly) When you would be available to start We're looking for someone who wants steady work, takes pride in solving problems, and wants to be part of a growing real estate company. Employment is contingent on a background check. Halstead Residential is an equal opportunity employer .
