Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Floor Sander & Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, sanding, installing, and finishing various types of flooring projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction and renovation projects, utilizing your skills in flooring installation, restoration, and related trades. The ideal candidate will bring a strong work ethic, technical expertise, and a passion for transforming spaces with precision and care. Duties Prepare floors for installation by removing old flooring, cleaning surfaces, and repairing subfloor issues using hand tools and power tools. Operate sanding machines and buffing equipment to achieve smooth, even surfaces on hardwood, tile, or other flooring materials. Install a variety of flooring types including hardwood, tile, laminate, and vinyl with attention to detail and industry standards. Read blueprints, schematics, and floor plans to accurately execute installation layouts and specifications. Apply finishes such as staining, sealing, caulking, and polishing to enhance durability and appearance of floors. Perform restoration work on water-damaged or aged floors as part of repair projects within the restoration industry. Requirements Proven experience in flooring installation, sanding, or related construction trades with a focus on floor care and restoration. Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, saws), power tools (e.g., drills, sanders), and specialized equipment like buffing machines. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and working on construction sites with safety compliance. Ability to handle water damage restoration processes and apply proper floor care techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to different project requirements quickly. Construction site experience including working safely around other tradespeople and adhering to safety protocols.
