Competitive, based on experience About OM Drapes Design OM Drapes Design is a boutique window treatment company based in Huntington Beach, now with a new location at the Laguna Design Center. We work with interior designers, homeowners, and trade professionals to deliver custom window treatments that combine beauty, function, and exceptional service. We specialize in custom shades, motorization, drapery, and luxury window covering solutions for high-end residential projects throughout Orange County and Southern California. We are looking for an experienced Window Treatment Installer to join our team part-time, two days per week, with the potential to grow into a full-time position as our installation needs continue to expand. This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone with strong hands-on experience who can install independently, troubleshoot confidently, and represent OM Drapes Design professionally in our clients' homes. Responsibilities Install custom window treatments, including roller shades, Roman shades, woven shades, cellular shades, blinds, shutters, and motorized products Install drapery hardware and draperies Install and troubleshoot Somfy motorized systems Perform service calls, repairs, adjustments, and go-backs Take accurate field measurements for shades, drapery, and related products Read and follow work orders, measurements, drawings, and installation notes Identify installation challenges and communicate solutions clearly Document jobsite conditions with photos and notes Confirm products, hardware, brackets, motors, remotes, and accessories before installation Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite Protect client property, including floors, walls, furniture, and surrounding surfaces Communicate professionally with clients, designers, contractors, and the OMDD team Complete installation checklists and client sign-offs when required Escalate technical or product concerns when needed Requirements Minimum 5 years of window treatment installation experience Strong experience installing shades and motorized window coverings Somfy motorization experience required Drapery hardware and drapery installation experience required Ability to install independently without constant supervision Ability to troubleshoot common shade, drapery, and motorization issues Ability to take accurate measurements and provide clear field notes Must have own tools/equipment Must have own van or appropriate work vehicle Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Professional appearance and client-facing communication skills Comfortable working in high-end residential homes Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, and work safely with tools and equipment Comfortable using a smartphone for photos, notes, scheduling, and job documentation Strong attention to detail and pride in clean workmanship Preferred Experience Lutron motorization experience Hunter Douglas experience or certification Experience with Roman shade repairs and service Experience working with interior designers, builders, or luxury residential clients Experience with specialty windows, challenging installation conditions, and custom drapery hardware Ideal Candidate The right person for this role is professional, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable representing a high-end service company in beautiful residential homes.
