Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Field Assistant / Installation apprentice specializing in Windows & Doors to join our dynamic construction team. In this energetic role, you will serve as a vital link between the project site and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and efficient support for installation crews. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help keep projects on track, promote safety, and uphold quality standards across various construction sites. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry while contributing to high-quality building projects. Responsibilities Work alongside our experience lead installer, assisting on installations and gaining valuable knowledge to advance as a skilled installer. Act as the primary point of contact for delivering windows, doors, and related materials to construction sites, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Complete measure appointments for projects, ensuring accuracy for accurate quoting and ordering. Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing hand tools, power tools, and construction materials on-site. Support the installation team by fetching additional supplies or equipment as needed during project execution. Maintain clear communication with project managers, suppliers, and crew members to coordinate deliveries and resolve logistical issues swiftly. Ensure all safety protocols are followed during material handling and site activities, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Keep detailed records of deliveries, inventory levels, and work progress to support project documentation. Skills Installation experience in windows and doors is bonus, though not required. Experience with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and fixture installation techniques. Knowledge of construction management principles, estimating processes, and inspection standards. Skills in using Bluebeam software for digital plan review and markup (preferred). Construction site experience across various trades such as carpentry, glazing (glass installation), framing, roofing, masonry, or restoration is highly desirable. Ability to operate basic machinery like forklifts or other heavy equipment (certification preferred). Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing deliveries and inventory.
