Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Window and Door Installation Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field installation activities for residential and/or commercial window and door projects. This role ensures installations are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and building codes. The Superintendent supervises installation crews, coordinates with project managers and customers, and maintains a high level of workmanship and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily window and door installation operations. Manage installation crews, subcontractors, and field personnel. Schedule manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project timelines. Ensure all installations comply with building codes, OSHA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company standards. Conduct site inspections to verify quality, safety, and project progress. Resolve installation issues, field conflicts, and customer concerns promptly. Coordinate with project managers, sales teams, builders, and homeowners throughout the project lifecycle. Review project plans, specifications, and work orders before installation begins. Maintain accurate daily reports, job progress updates, punch lists, and completion documentation. Train, mentor, and evaluate installation personnel on quality, productivity, and safety practices. Monitor inventory, equipment, and material usage to minimize waste. Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to customer satisfaction. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; construction management or related education preferred. 5+ years of experience in window and door installation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or superintendent role. Strong knowledge of residential and commercial window and door installation techniques. Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA requirements. Ability to read blueprints, architectural drawings, and project specifications. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Work Environment Primarily field-based at residential and commercial construction sites. Occasional office work for meetings, planning, and reporting. May require overtime and occasional weekend work to meet project schedules. Preferred Certifications OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification First Aid/CPR Certification Forklift or aerial lift certification (as required) Manufacturer installation certifications (preferred) This position is ideal for an experienced construction professional who can lead installation teams, maintain high-quality workmanship, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
